How a story differs from a post
A post stays on the profile grid until the creator takes it down. A story sits in a ring above that grid and is gone twenty-four hours after it went up — there is no public archive, and no way to scroll back to one.
The second difference is the one that sends people looking for a TikTok story viewer in the first place. A post does not tell the creator who watched it. A story does: open one while signed in and your handle joins a list only they can see. That list is the whole reason this tool exists — not to hide anything dishonest, but because reading a public account should not have to be an introduction.
Can a story be recovered once it expires?
